Furthermore you can find caves full of birds and a surrealistic castle in the middle of the forest. Action-orientated people have the chance to do rafting, rappeling, zip-lining even on a so-called "Sky Bike" , cross a suspension bridge or jump down into water basins or rivers. I spent one-and-a-half weeks in the Huasteca Potosina, visiting just a few of the spectacles of nature and trying out only a fraction of the touristic offers. In the following paragraphs I would like to introduce to you some of the places I visited. I tried to arrange them not chronologically but in the order of how much I liked them, although this was pretty hard as nearly all of them were incredible experiences.

The Huasteca Potosina
I have been wanting to visit la Huasteca Potosina for the past 7 years of my life in Mexico since I have found out about this magical place, a natural work of art. Ok, therefore, where should I go exactly to see all those waterfalls that they called Huasteca Potosina? I was clueless until I found a video on Youtube where I got the name of the waterfalls and then I asked my guide in the Sierra Gorda, Queretaro Another amazing place, that you should definitely check out , who finally managed to bring some light on the region and how to visit it. The first thing I found out was that one day was absolutely not enough to visit it all, I would have needed at least 5 full days to make it through all the waterfalls and so I did. I was lucky as at the hostel where I was staying I met a girl who was traveling with the same purpose and we decided to venture together a couple of days on local buses and a couple of days by a private taxi.
My family and I are thinking of travelling from Queretaro towards Huasteca Potosina as we make our way to SLP for about days the week before Christmas. We would like to get your recommendations. In the city of SLP, we have a place to stay, so we would like to minimize the number of hotel stays! Once in SLP we could also do day trips. We are mostly interested in nature, and a bit history my 7 and 8 year old children not so much with history!
